John and his wife, Linda, live in Lancaster with their two children, Sean and Megan. He grew up in Cheektowaga and retired from UPS after 30 years of service in areas including operations, human resources and employee relations.

He took on several leadership roles with community organizations over the past 40 years before being elected to the Erie County Legislature in 2016.
